Our Mission
Metta Rising partners with organizations and businesses in the community to create temporary and ongoing trauma-sensitive SEL and creative arts programming for children and adults in their organization. We work with your schedule and integrate our model with yours so that every individual in your organization has the tools to live a healthy, confident and creative life. Some organizations work with us for a few months while others stay with us for years to create a solid sustainable model of wellness, self-regulation and self-expression. Whether it is short-term or long-term programming, a seed is planted with the upmost love and care. Metta Rising believes that by partnering with organizations we can not just plant seeds of self-care, wellness and confident creative expression for every individual, but for our whole community.
Our Principles
Be
At the heart of mindfulness practices is an increased awareness of self. This greater self awareness offers us so much wealth in our minds, bodies and how we relate to ourselves and the world. When you realize this worth the practice is priceless and becomes effortless to maintain. We can learn and grow in mindfulness practices in a variety of ways. Mindfulness can be a formal seated practice, a movement practice and moments you integrate and grow throughout your day. Metta Rising offers classes, models and programming for offering these practices in a way that is digestible and sustainable for individuals, groups and organizations.
Express
Every individual desires to shape and share their ideas about their self and the world around them. It is the way we create healthy identities and understand our relationship with those around us. Expressing doesn’t always come easy, but when paired with mindfulness we are able to notice things that maybe we once overlooked. The ability to externalize and express creates an amazing joy within us and creates space for healing and growing. Metta Rising offers all types of art classes. Whether it is a painting class, working with found materials or creating an artwork outside, we aspire to help you connect with your self and what brings you joy.
Connect
Connection is the foundation of everything we do. Whether we are exploring mindfulness, yoga, or art; connection to ourselves and each other is the thread that continues to produce the most joyful fruits. We need to feel connected. Supporting this is fundamental and is the starting and ending point of any class. There is so much energy, sense of self, healing, joy and peace that comes from this feeling of connection.
